The Divine Gate

The Divine Gate is a magical barrier that surrounds the Material Plane, created after the Fall of Arcanum.
The barrier prevents the Gods from being physically able to influence the mortal world. It also makes it difficult for powerful beings, such as Quasi-Deities (Archevils or Archfey) to cross into the Material Plane.
Additionally the Divine Gate prevents mortals from being able to access powerful magics (above 9th level) and makes it more difficult for mortals to learn magic.
