Abandoned College Lab

A large building, sporting two floors in addition to a greenroom-like dome on top. This laboratory while impressive, was nonetheless abandoned.
It was here that the Wanadead found the second to last shard of the meteorite, imbedded in a tree within the glass dome, protected by a Mind Flayer. While exploring this ruin, the Wanadead stumbled upon experiments with nature at their focus, talking trees, walking plants, and a blight that seemed to infest plant life. With this research station abandoned, all the Wanadead had to go off of was the notes that were left behind.

Purpose / Function

When this research lab was created, it had a goal to look after and explore magic's effect on nature. Yet, after an Archmage known as Anexis Oleria was given control over the facility, it took a turn. Archmage Oleria began to study something called the Blight, a sickness that takes hold of plants, kills them, and controls them beyond death. She believed this was the cure to nature's mortality.
Oleria survived the meteorite crash, and continued her experiments. She found a shard of the meteorite in the tree and began to research it. Eventually, a Mind Flayer leech found her and she turned into a Mind Flayer, but that did not stop her from continuing to research the meteorite.

Archmage Oleria turned the second floor laboratory into place where she could keep and study the Blight.

Architecture

The first floor of the facility was composed of four large research areas dedicated to alchemy and the exploration of nature and magic's relationship. It possessed a floatation pad that allowed access to the second floor.
The second floor of the facility held the archmages chambers, as well as another laboratory. Inside the archmages chambers, there was a floatation pad that led to the glass dome on top of the building.
The glass dome acted as an observatory/archmages research area. It housed a large tree in the center.

History

This research facility has always been first and foremost about the study of magic and nature. Throughout its years, numerous advances have been made in that field as well as in alchemy.
The last Archmage to look after this facility, Archmage Anexis Oleria, was a bit of a fanatic, focused on prolonging nature's life. Believing the Blight to be the key, she began to research it in secret and conducted less than legal experiments. After the College got wind of this, they decided to shut down the facility and investigate what was going on.
However, before they could manage to accualize this, the meteorite hit the sector. The college then assumed the matter was dealt with. Yet, Oleria lived, and lived out her days continuing her research and research on the shard of the meteorite that crashed throught the glass dome and imbedded itself into the tree that grew there. This warped the tree and Oleria thought this was a breakthrough.
Eventually, she was corrupted by a Mind Flayer leech and was taken over by it. However, her research conitnued for they had the same goal.
Only did it end when the Wanadead came and finally put an end to the experiments that went down in this forsaken labratory.
