Qian-Li Geographic Location in Exodus | World Anvil

Qian-Li

Qian-Li, pronounced (‘ki-on li), is one of six provinces of the Sung-Cho Empire.   Qian-Li’s reputation attracts some of the finest minds in the world, and for that reason, it is not uncommon to see shrines to foreign gods or other evidence of foreign influence. Despite not being a major trade hub, the Emperor’s investment in keeping his empire grand in the international eye ensures that as much of the province as possible is prosperous, although those who fall out of favor find themselves worth less than the worms of the dirt.

Geography

Qian-Li, though not the heart of the empire, is certainly its soul, and is the second-largest of all the provinces, just behind Ranzheng, and is 50 miles wide and roughly 66 miles long. It is widely urbanized, with little in the way of dense forests or thick marshes. Here, large towns sport universities, cathedrals, and amphitheaters of impressive size and equally grand repute. Philosophers discuss the workings of the world in the shadow of breathtaking architecture. Monasteries and pantheons are commonplace.

Fauna & Flora

Qian-Li is in warmer, yet still temperate, climes. Although subjected to periodic storms from the north and intensive snowfall during winter, its urban leanings leave it relatively unaffected by such. The area is too well-settled to leave much room for monstrous uprisings, and its central location within the empire leaves it protected on all sides from attack. The province is highly reliant on the other arms of the empire to sustain itself, however, as the land is not particularly fertile.
