The Infernal War

The Infernal War erupted during the time of silence, when The Powers had withdrawn from Aeldoren and the Veil weakened. From beyond came the Infernari; ancient entities of flame, ash, and ruin, bent not on conquest, but unmaking. Their presence tore at the fabric of the world. Forests burned, mountains shattered, and despair spread like wildfire. The dwarves of Tharûdrim, forged by The Powers to be guardians, rose alone to face the tide. They held fast through fire and shadow, battling across the surface and the deep. Their defiance bought time. When The Powers returned in wrath, they joined the dwarves and broke the Infernari legions. Though defeated, some Infernari slipped into the earth, birthing the cursed Shadowdeep, and the horrors that still linger.
