Bastion Falkirk

Bastion Falkirk was born in Aeritain in 69CR to a family of proud martial tradition. The son of a Knight and descended from generations of fighting men, Bastion was steeped in the ideals of chivalry and loyalty from a young age. He came to Ashkrim in his youth, serving first as a page and later as a squire in the court of Duke Albert Stratton. His discipline, intelligence, and exceptional skill in arms set him apart early, and he was knighted by Duke Stratton himself at the age of twenty-one.
As a vassal Knight and personal retainer to the Duke, Sir Bastion quickly earned a place of trust in the household. He accompanied the Duke to the north during the campaign that culminated in the pivotal Battle of Dunleven Hill. There, Bastion's valor and leadership turned the tide of battle, and he became a legend overnight. Wielding a warhammer instead of a sword, he earned the enduring moniker “The Hammer of the Hill.”
In recognition of his deeds, Duke Stratton elevated Bastion to lordship, granting him dominion over the fertile lands of the Stratton River Valley. There he established his seat and oversaw the construction of Falkirk Keep, a fortress and administrative center that would become a symbol of his legacy. Bastion continued his service in the Second Rakash War, fighting bravely in numerous campaigns and serving as one of Duke Stratton’s most trusted lieutenants and dearest friends.
In the climactic battle that brought the Second Rakash War to an end, Duke Stratton placed full command of the army in Bastion’s hands, a testament to the trust he had in the Knight who had never failed him. Bastion’s strategic brilliance and steady hand helped secure victory, cementing his place in Ashkrim’s history.
After Duke Albert’s death, Bastion remained a pillar of stability and experience in the court of the young Duke Thomas Stratton. He became a valued counselor, guiding the new Duke through the early years of his reign and helping to maintain the realm’s fragile peace.
Lord Bastion Falkirk died in 138CR, his legacy etched into the memory of the realm. He was succeeded by his son, but his name lived on in song and story. To this day, he is remembered as Ashkrim’s greatest hero, a symbol of honor, strength, and loyalty.
