Fellows of Free Fate

The Fellows are known to frequently roll the Fate's dice and pray for Lady Luck's aid, while taking her tenets to the extremes.   This religious sect of Lady Luck and Moon Magu who give their lives over to them. They believe this to a great form of worship as to live is a sign of the gods' will. They are well organized with a network to plan gatherings and lure people to these 'sacred sites.'

Structure

Though the organization is competition for favor, there is no ranking amoung members. Most of the organization wears little or revealing clothing as many of the 'rituals' they take apart in destroys clothing quickly. Every role, excluding Healers, are required to complete a 'ritual' to be considered a Fellow.   If the organization had a ruler, it would be a Healer. This role requires the person to be a doctor, or clergy of the Great Healer. Most Healers are hired from areas nearby a sacred place, resulting in only a few official Healers. Every Healer's word is treated as final when it comes to injured. Their decision carries the weight of whether a Fellow can continue 'rituals.' To find make Healers easy to find, the Fellows provide a large petaled flower hat.   Fellow is both a general term for a member, greeting between members and used for those that have not been Favored, or taken on another role.   Watchers are the fight, life, and nature guards. They stop fights between members, look for anyone injured and protect area used from misuse. Each one is wears a colored set of bands denoting which type of Watcher; red for fight, black for life, and green for nature.   Stewards set up and care for the areas the Fellows use. They vary in the amount of clothing as former Fellows, but always wear a colored slash to display their role. This role has two types; the Follower stays with the Fellows when there is a gathering and inform them of events, and the Settler is a Fellow(s) who stay at 'sacred sites' and maintain the area for future use.   The Favored are marked by the tattoos on their bodies, which serve as a reminder and badge of honor. The Favored are considered favored by the gods and can have any amount of tattoos. Fellows that aspire to be favored seek guidance, advice, and blessing from the Favored.

Tattoo

Each moon, coin, kiss, or string represents a moment when the god favored the individual. The Kisses or Strings are determined by the individual, which god they believed to keep them from death. The belief that Lady Luck watches during the day and Moon Magu watches during the night are reflected with the coins and moons. Rolling Fate's Dice is considered dangerous yet this doesn't stop Fellows from participating in Fate Advents.

Ethics

All rituals must be conducted under supervision by Healers, Watchers, and one experienced Fellow. Every Fellow must be willing and understand the risks of a ritual. Official events are announced, maintained, and organized by the Stewards only.   Any event not officially held by the organization is deemed unsafe and participants will not gain an organizational role. Unofficial practice is frowned upon as the organization encourages the supervision of one Healer and an experienced Fellow. Attempting a ritual at any sacred site no matter the ranking is considered dangerous without supervision. Many Fellows and Favored have been lost by these attempts.

Worship

The Fellows gather often at places considered dangerous to compete for Lady Luck and Moon Magu's favor. They consider these places sacred and compete by putting themselves in danger. These acts are considered 'rituals' and survivors become Fellows. Each place is ranked in difficultly for a Fellow to practice before attempting a life or death 'rituals'.   These 'sacred sites' range from natural formations, oceans, deserts and even cities. How the 'ritual' is conducted changes with location, however, there is always an element of fear to them. Mountains, cliffs, and tall city structures have Fellows diving from the heights. Whether at the ocean or desert, they glide over the water and sand alike. Once in the city; they can be seen running roofs, dodging through crowds, diving from buildings, and creating a large spectacle somewhere.

"Jump, if you never try, you'll never know." - a Fellow as they backed off the cliff.

Ok, first off, this sect sounds so badass! I fully admit that I'm a coward and would never join them, but just reading about them makes me wanna know so much more about them! What kinds of people would join a cult like this? What do they wear? I know you specified that they wear very little, but do they have cool outfits to match their sheer badassery? Maybe even cool hairstyles to set them apart from others? Jewelry, mayhaps? What do they eat? I gotta know! How does the average joe view these people? How does one go about joining such a group? And personally, I wanna know how they view children; is there an age requirement to join?   But good article nonetheless. I'll definitely be looking forward to any updates you might put out about these crazy guys!

__People who join and how to join__ So, my world had a war and I would think the short-lived races that are bored/need to feel special, rebellious child of 2nd/3rd generation, and those that need the adrenaline rush (either just because or from the war) Joining is easy. You arrive, tell them what you want to do and do it. If you live without being resurrected, you become a Fellow. If you came close to death or were ballsy and completed a 'life or death ritual', you become a Favored. Just that easy.....*smiles coyly*   __What they wear, hairstyles, and jewelry__ Most of these people are average, so if they wear anything it is normal casual clothing. There are special pieces of clothing that distinguishes the roles, but I haven't assigned the colors yet. I have three reasons they don't wear much; to avoid ruining clothing, show off tattoos, and some rituals have them wear something. Now; hairstyles, jewelry, and cool outfits probably won't be used at a gathering. Maybe they could accessorize for formal events, such as parties or balls. But even still, the clothing won't cover their tattoos as they are seen as a badge of honor and is their only proof, besides their word, that they actually committed those 'rituals'.   __What they eat, how they are viewed, and children__ They eat whatever is available at these gatherings. That's alittle bit harder to pin down and I'll have to think on it. That will be something I add. I think it would depend on the child's age and type of ritual. They would not let a pregnant woman near a ritual as the baby's life is valued highly after Still Wombs. (A period of time when all babies were still born.)
