Vaerixas the Veiled Flame

Vaerixas is a blue dragonborn with red and black scales. He has been seen wearing a dark cloak and has a staff with the shape of a dragon head.

Appearance

Vaerixas is a striking figure, a tall, blue-scaled dragonborn with streaks of black and crimson along his neck, horns, and tail. His cloak, made of ash-grey silk and edged in embers, conceals much of his body. His eyes, glowing faintly with eldritch light, seem to flicker between rage and cunning calculation.

Personality

Cold, charismatic, and cruelly methodical, Vaerixas believes he is destined to ascend, not merely as a wielder of draconic power, but as a conduit for Tiamat's resurgence in the world. He speaks with chilling eloquence, weaving doctrine and threat with equal precision. He holds grudges fiercely, especially against those who interfere with the Cult of the Caustic Heart . Beneath his composed exterior lies a tempest of hatred for those who reject his faith, and a burning hunger for apotheosis.

Background

Once a scholar from Draconia , Vaerixas vanished following an academic expedition to Blightshore. When he resurfaced after the fall of Draconia, he was changed, now a fanatic and chosen voice of the Cult of the Caustic Heart. He believes himself chosen by Tiamat to usher in a new age of chromatic domination. In his most recent plot, he attempted to sacrifice the sorceress Calianna Mordsson to empower a dracolich ritual, using the stolen Draconomicon to bend ancient magics to his will. Though the party disrupted the ritual, Vaerixas escaped aided by a mysterious figure known only as The Prophet.
