Exalted

Celestial Exalted

The first Exalted were created by Helios. He used portions of his own being and splintered them into 1000 shards, which chose Humans of great will and destiny. These Exalts were granted the godly power of controlling @Essense to enhance themselves.
Helios's sister Selene replicated this act, creating the 1000 Lunar Exalted.
Jealousy overcame Kronos who unwilling to share his own power, convinced the Moirai to grant him a portion of their power, which he fractured and created the 250 Sidereal Exalted.

Terrestrial Exalted

Gaia wishing to maintain a balance upon Creation, granted the power of the Elements to her chosen, creating the Terrestrial Exalted, who may pass this trait down to their offspring. Though their true numbers are unknown it is estimated that over 35,000 Phoenix-blooded reside in the world.

Corrupted Celestial Exalted

Upon their release, only half of the Solar shards were able to return to the world. 400 shards were captured and corrupted by the Neverborne creating the Abyssal Exalted. For their help the other 100 shards were given to the Diableon for their own twisted purposes, creating the Infernal Exalted.

Other Exalted

There are 3 more types of Exalted whose numbers fluctuate depending on the state of the world.
These are the Liminal Exalted who are created by a disruption in the death cycle, stealing portions of Essence from the Underworld and the Creation to fulfill their individual purpose they were unable to accomplish in life.
Exigents are individuals chosen by a god who has learned create an imperfect Exaltation. These Chosen individuals are given a single purpose to fulfill until the end of their days. This is done as a last resort by a god as this act may kill them and the imperfect Exaltation can be captured by powerful magics employed by mortals.
Finally rumors have circulated throughout the Ages of Alchemical Exalted, mechanical constructs who have been granted true life by an unknown god. It is commonly reported that they are built of the Five @Magical Materials, and have spoke about another Realm within the Wyld.
