This is Mary Mays with continuing coverage of the Battle of Henry. For those of you just joining us, we are diving into the events surrounding the battle that took place last night and early this morning between the New Victoria Police Department and AERI Team, and the Sixth Street Sparks. The Battle began at around 10:00pm yesterday evening and went on until approximately 2:00am this morning.   We can confirm that the main perpetrator known as Blood Bolt, aka Lucius Hawke, is in EHEA custody; and has been transported by the Federal Government to a maximum security Evo-Prison while waiting to go up on charges for mass murder, serial murders, and many additional crimes.   We’ve received confirmed reports that multiple members of the NVPD and AERI team are in the hospital after sustaining serious injuries. At this time, we’d like to dispel the rumors that Victory died during the battle. After speaking to treating physicians at Riverview Hospital, we are able to share that although Victory is presently in critical condition, he is still fighting and has shown signs of improvement over the past few hours. From all of us here at the station, we wish all the injured a speedy and complete recovery.   Moving onto our next interview, we have Sergeant Jason Davis of the New Victoria Police Department. Sergeant Davis suffered acute injuries to his leg during the battle and is still undergoing surveillance before being released from the hospital. Sergeant, how are you doing?

Sergeant Jason Davis

“I’m doing okay, ma’am. I’m alive. That’s more than a lot of others can say.”

Mary Mays

We can’t even imagine what you and so many others are going through, Sergeant. You were present at the battle. What can you tell us about it?

Sergeant Jason Davis

“It was a nightmare. We responded to a call for backup before we knew the full picture. By the time we really knew what was going on, it had turned into a war between the police and those thugs and mutated freaks on their side. Then—then it was supposed to get better."   "The AERI team arrived. I remember feeling alive again, even though there was a hole in my leg, when it came over the radio. 'AERI on scene. AERI on scene.' Those words lifted my spirits, ma'am. I swear to God they did. Finally we wouldn't be alone."   "Next thing I know, AERI arrived and they...they dashed right past us, leaving us behind to burn the skin off a few guys and drown another in—in rock. One guy had his head smashed open like a watermelon. That's when we all started to realize then we didn’t have saviors on our side. We had monsters to fight monsters."   "Even after they arrived, my friends kept dying. Last count was 17 officers dead, likely to rise as more of us can’t keep fighting anymore in the hospital. Double that amount injured."   "This—this wasn’t supposed to happen, ma’am. We were told AERI existed to prevent these type of things from happening. We were told that they were there to help us, to handle these situations. Instead I watched more of my friends die in one hour than I had in 6 years of service. How am I supposed to go on like that? Knowing that my so called ‘heroes’ are just as bad as the guys I watched kill my friends…”

The camera pans down as the officer waves it away, replaced by the sounds of muffled crying.   I’m….so sorry, Sergeant Davis. But thank you for sharing your experience. I can’t imagine how hard this is for you and for so many. Please know you have the grateful thanks and support of a City that wouldn’t be here without you.   After this break we will be back with Lieutenant Daniel Posada with the NVPD SWAT Team. Stay tuned.

And we're back from break! We're continuing our interview with Lieutenant Posada. Lieutenant?

Lieutenant Posada

“…I was one of the few that went in with the lead AERI unit to take on Bolt and rescue the hostages. I had been there for about an hour before being reassigned with the team to lead them in. It was hell. That’s for sure. Men and women in blue going down left and right. So little we could do against that much fire power and Evos on their side. I wasn’t there when the first team arrived to the front, but I know from many that it wasn’t as cut and dry as some may make it seem. That’s not their fault. Combat skews perception."   "From what I heard, the AERI team tried to make an opening but were countered by the Evos on Bolt’s side and pushed into a fight while the gangsters focused on the Police. What I know firsthand is that by the time we got there with S—Minerva, that’s our codename for her. Along with her were Diana, Apollo, and then a few others joined. Again, codenames, we didn’t have the chance to get their AERI designations."   "Anyways, we get to the frontlines. By the time we arrived, Victory, Geb and Inferno—we got their names, and others were reinforcing the defensive line and tending to the wounded. I mean, tending. Victory was running around triaging everyone he could. Inferno was sealing open wounds. Geb was raising barriers. The others were moving people back to one area to treat them. That’s what I saw the AERI team doing. Taking care of my brothers and sisters in arms."   "After that—well some of it is still confidential. But when we went in, the AERI Team’s primary focus was the hostages. And we got them out while these…some of them were just kids defended us and fought long enough for us to pull out the trapped officers. So when I hear so many talking heads bashing the AERI team I—I get more than a little pissed off. They did their best, and that’s all we can ask or expect from them."

With us now is Councilman Adam Davis…

“…We let monsters, freaks—let’s call them what they are, there’s no need to be PC about this. They aren’t human, we don’t need to treat them with the same respect we show each other. They’re freaks. And Mayor Sims let these freaks out without any sort of monitoring or authority. Because of her poor decision making, dozens more people died. Including criminals who had a right to a trial by their peers. By us. By humans. Because we judge each other. We don’t let wannabe gods hyped up on their own mutations play judge, jury and executioner. Look at this. Look at this kid with the power of fire in his hands burn the faces off two likely lost, or maybe even controlled by Bolt’s psycho psychic, boys. That’s what they are, boys. Boys with third degree burns because of a monster that—”
