Personal history

Lucas was born into the well known and respected Gilmore Family. However, behind closed doors, living with this family is a living hell. The only child, Luke was abused and scarred for every inconvenience Ethan and Helen had.   On a grim day, they both blew an official meeting, so Helen heated up a knife and held Luke down. The searing hot knife was etched into Luke's back, leaving smoldering lines along his skin. Not feeling satisfied, Ethan took the knife and told Luke that it was his turn. He stabbed the knife into Luke's middle finger on his right hand. There was now simply a sizzling stub of cooked flesh left over. Luckily, they didn't know Luke was left handed.   His only catharsis were the papers and pencils he could draw on. He made imaginary friends When Luke was 4, he realized his mother was pregnant. He was so happy to finally have a sibling that could become a sanctuary for his pain. When she came home one day, Helen was no longer pregnant. "Who needs two punching bags," she said.   Luke was heartbroken, and decided to draw what it would be like if he had a baby sister. The drawing violently shook on the paper, and then slowly began to move. He talked to the drawing, and she talked back to him. He learned that the drawings he brings to life come from "The World of Ink," a reality where drawings and imaginations come from. Luke has the power to pull living drawings from The World of Ink.   By the age of 5, he was brought with to a business trip his parents had in New Victoria. He had the capabilities to run and escape from this hell he called a "family." He grabbed his favorite teddy bear, notebooks and pencils. After a couple hours of walking out at night, a patrol car found him on the side of the road. They saw the living drawings he was looking at in his notebook, and called the CPS.   The police station Luke was brought to was murky and covered in trash. He knew he had to get out of here and find a real family. Luke told the police department about everything his parents had done as best he could explain it. He was given a ride all the way to Saint Marsh's and was immediately welcomed with open arms.   After a few years, he warmed up to everybody in Saint Marsh's. He loved drawing pictures for everybody, and after enough practice making the images move, he learned how to bring them to life off of the paper. He can now bring any form of his own artistic drawings to life.   His favorite pastimes when he grew older was reading to the younger children at the orphanage. Anna in particular loved the stories that Luke wrote on his own. This inspired him to be a great and famous writer, so he could share his stories with many other people.   While they were off hiking, Anna scraped her knee on the stone road they were walking on. She had tripped on her own shoelace. He tried to catch her, but was too slow. It was a deep injury, and Luke felt horrible about not being able to stop her fall. He wrote a story where things turned out differently and she didn't scrape her knee.   Anna ran to his door almost immediately after Luke finished writing the story, and showed him that her scrap went away. He learned that he could rewrite Physical changes that happen to people.   After many years, Luke was too old to live at the orphanage. He got a job at the local library, and rented an apartment in Lakeview. He lives a life trying to forget the horrors that happened to him for the first 5 years of his life.
