Just a Cozy Lunch in the Park

Summer 2021, Week 3

Thursday midday

Briar Park, The Heights

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

Aloy’s C4 corvette had pulled its way back into Briar Park and locked it up again, through the annoying process of putting on a clutch lock, then a wheel lock. He quickly looked it over. Nodding to himself as he walked deeper into the park. And oh god he had so much fast food with him. He had a big day planned after all; he also had a bag full of those packaged fried noodles. He started with the burgers again. Talking to himself out loud since no one seemed to be around.   “Man, am I gonna go to that concert later? I dunno man K-pop ain’t my thing but they are having that band come beforehand and I don’t mind their music, it’d be my first live music experience……but what if someone from school is there and they notice me it’ll be awkward… and what if Big Bess gets stolen…” He looked over to the car. He wasn’t the best at studying but he remembered the old unreliable tanks of WW1 and what the crews would call their tanks. He found it fitting.

Damian Eli

Damian had switched out his motorcycle for his Lexus GS. "No man. I just bought the tickets... Well, I mean yeah it was purely for Roslyn... I don't care how it looks her music is amazing!... Bye" he touched the Bluetooth on his ear hanging up the call as he pulled into the park right next to a C4 black Corvette. "I. You've got to be shitting me! " he said to himself getting out and keeping an eye out for the large form he knew as Aloy not noticing he was humming the song Have we met before to himself as he found a bench and sat down just taking in the fresh air and hoping Aloy wasn't nearby because that was gonna awkward.

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

Aloy kept munching away. Family meals being chewed away at a leisurely pace. Staring out at the water at the park. He had bruises on his face and a few cuts too. “Jeez, what is everything now?”

Damian Eli

Damian spotted Aloy just shoveling a massive amount of food into his face just a few feet away he was honestly curious what would happen if somebody tried to get between the young man and his food. He quickly took into account the fresh bruises on Aloys face as well. With a sigh Damian got up and walked towards him. "Ya know a good way not to have bruises is this new thing called blocking I'm not sure if you've heard of it" he said with a small grin

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

“Are you stalking me? Ya know I’m underage.” Aloy said with a bite of sarcasm back shoving more food into his face. “It’s nothin’ you should see the other guy.” Yeah the other guy got out scratch free and was made of fucking stone. “I’m fine. I know how to block. I’ve been fighting for a while.”

Damian Eli

"You’re not my type kid don't flatter yourself" he replied not missing a beat. "And no the office is all cramped and I don't feel like going back to the apartment just yet, so I come to parks." He took a seat next to Aloy grunting as he did so. "So. Have you grown up here? And aren't you supposed to be in school?"

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

“Uhuh.so Your type isn’t good looking?” Aloy shoved another burger into his mouth sipping on his drink. “Alright Wall Street, Yeah I was born and raised here. And have you not looked around. It’s summer. No school.”

Damian Eli

"My type isn't kids. And Wall Street? Bitch please I'm from Detroit. I'm an accountant... and yeah. So it is" "Man I really need to keep better track of time!" He thought to himself. Damian had spent so much time making gear in a dark room he hadn't realized how much time had truly passed before he came to this city. He took off his suit coat and placed it on the ground next to him. "So, no summer job? Just relaxing? "

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

“I’m an adult this year. I don’t care where you’re from and accountant could mean like five things now.” He sighed grabbing another burger and shoving it into his mouth. “Long way from home. I uh d-don’t need a summer j-job… just existing I guess…”

Damian Eli

Damian cocked an eyebrow and shrugged. "Not far enough to miss it" he said with a coy grin. But something about the kid put him on edge he just wasn't sure what. "Have you ever seen Blood Bolt? I mean. He seems like... a demon from everything I heard" Damian was good enough at faking fear he just hoped it was believable to this kid.

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

“Uh huh…” Aloy kept shoving food into his mouth. He knew it Damian made a move he could punch him hard enough to break a normal man’s jaw. Or so he hoped. “No, I haven’t. Besides on the newspaper and the like. I think he’s a fuckin’ idiot.”

Damian Eli

Damian tensed up as the air around him seemed to grow stiff as he held Aloys gaze but as he Aloy spoke Damian unclenched his fists. "Yeah, he sets a real bad example for all Evos. gives them all a bad name" Even though Damian's fists were unclenched he was preparing to fight and shut down an ability if needed. "We had fucked up Evos I’m Detroit too. So, I learned to take care of myself"

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

“Okayyyy.” Aloy awkwardly commented finishing up his burger and fries. “You seem tense. I already told ya I ain’t an evo. I’m just a teenager. So, you can cool it.”

Damian Eli

Damian was almost positive that the person next to him was an Evo he just didn't know if he was a good one, a bad one, or more in-between. Damian fished in his pocket and pulled out one of the tracking devices that he kept on him. The device was the size of a dime and extremely thin it also stuck to most surface's including clothing and had a range of 80 miles before it cut off and a battery life if two days. He took a deep breath and patted Aloy on the shoulder placing the translucent disc as he did so. "You remind of me at your age"

“Don’t you fucking touch me.” Aloy said with a glare visibly displeased with even an attempt to touch him and he even pushed his body away. To the untrained eye it would look like a normal pushing off the ground but to someone who paid attention they’d notice he was a bit too fast. Just a tiny bit. To be normally pushing off the ground.   “I don’t care who you fuckin’ are. You could be the queen ‘a England or Jesus himself. No one touches me got it. You don’t go around touching people. I might not be an evo but I ain’t gonna let people mess with my shit.”

Damian Eli

Damian had been trained to fight every dollar he owned between foster homes and the streets went towards self-defense classes and food so he knew how fast most people Aloys size would react this was faster. "So you're an Evo. Enhanced speed... Maybe strength" He made a mental note as he stumbled back and put his hands up defensively. "Woah big guy. I'm not trying to fuck with you. Sorry."   Damian didn't want this to escalate, and he really didn't want to have to use his abilities, but he knew if this man in front of him had enhanced speed with that alone he was at a disadvantage. He decided to be a little preemptive he looked at Aloy and focused. "Here's hoping he's not a god damned tank" he said to himself as an invisible ten-foot area was spread effectively reducing all his abilities by half for the next ten minutes. "Just relax. I'm not here to hurt you"

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

“You better be sorry. Don’t go around touching people and shit. It’s fucking weird man. I dunno how things were in Detroit, but we like basic fucking boundaries here. Now I’m gonna be nice cus I’m in a good mood. And presume that it was an accidental mistake. Just know if you try it again I ain’t gonna be so understanding.” Aloy’s fist was clenched, and his face seemed to cool off a bit as he aggressively picked up the packed noodles and opened the packet.

Damian Eli

Even though he knew a crossed a line touching him Damian wasn't one to respond to threats well and old habits tended to die hard as his relaxed demeaner faded as did the mock fear. "Kid. I get you don't like being touched but you keep talking to me like that and you'll find out things were in Detroit. Learn to take an apology and get your head out of your ass before you're choking on teeth"   He didn't scream or yell and he said all this like he was talking about the engine of Aloys car but to some people that was just as frightening. As he spoke Damian made small adjustments to how he was standing placing weight on his back leg in case he needed to bolt in any direction or throw a kick nothing very noticeable but very helpful in case a fight was to transpire.

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

"I ain't a kid. I was just informing you. That I’m gonna give you a pass and be polite and deciding to be nice cus I was in a good mood. Now legally you ain't in a good position. So if I was you, I'd shut up and drop it. Even if you are an evo that can throw me to the moon. I think the cops wouldn't appreciate you threatening an underage teen. So I'm gonna say this once. Leave me be and let me enjoy the only food I can afford. Now I'm gonna go sit on the hood of my car and if you threaten me again. I'll have to believe you mean actual harm got it."   Aloy's figure was menacing for a seventeen-year-old. He still looked pissed as he crunched onto the noodles he was eating. Aloy really had nothing to lose. Not many friends. Only the people at Saint Marsh would miss him. His mother would never notice. Either way he just stared Damian down, like a wild dog that hadn't eaten as he walked all the way towards his car and sat on it.

Damian Eli

Damian didn't lower his gaze; it wasn't in him. Yes, he tried to play a meek accountant, but some things couldn't be unlearned, and 18 hard years couldn't be undone, he'd often bitten off more than he could chew but he didn't back down then and he sure as hell wasn't about to cower now. He didn't speak his eyes just bore into Aloy’s figure, but he took a deep breath and exhaled. He couldn't afford any trouble as Damian he needed to blend in, so he grabbed his car keys and walked towards his Lexus unlocking it and driving towards his apartment. "Fuck that was close" he finally admitted as the park faded away in his rear-view mirror

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

Aloy kept eating and pulled out his phone. Normally he’d keep a mental note of any plates, but Aloy knew his memory was shit and he quickly typed it down in notes. Since it was continently next to him. He wasn’t gonna snoop. Just good to have that incase this Damian guy comes around again with threats or lord behold anything else. Either way he knew that maybe he shouldn’t have gotten so angry. Then again, he held back enough to not punch this guy in the stomach. It was progress.
Damian Eli's Apartment, Downtown

Damian Eli

As he entered his apartment from the park Damian threw his keys on the counter and immediately made his way over to his computer. He booted it up as well his IP hopper software along with a few other safety measures just in case. As soon as he was satisfied with that, he started to dig into Aloy anything that was of interest or anything that could give an edge. After only a few minutes Damian could tell there was nothing to really uncover Aloy was a student no trouble with the law not even a speeding ticket. His mother was a different story but that wasn't Damian's problem or business. He took a notebook next to his desk and wrote down Aloys name and information before closing it again he wanted to be semi prepared just in case but for now he was pretty sure Aloy was just a young Evo with anger issues nothing terrible.
