(Forgotten) Blink is a prototype synthetic human, genetically programmed to possess evo abilities in the Canadian government’s efforts to create an elite military force. The procedure consisted of regular scientists making great strides in creating “faux humans” to bypass laws on human experimentation while the head scientist, an evo with the ability to give others powers. She used the subjects to hone her skills in creating more stable abilities and more importantly giving the abilities she intended. The goal was to create an army of soldiers with superhuman durability. Subject A turned partially to lava and burned to death. Test: Failure. Subject B turned to rock but was brittle and fell apart. Test: Failure. Subject C became permanently invisible instead of gaining any form of durability. Test: Failure. This went on until they reached their seventh subject. Subject G inherited perfect durability, able to take even bullet wounds to the head in the right conditions.
The experiment went wrong when they unintentionally gave the subject psychic abilities along with the planned unnatural durability. Subject G gained consciousness almost immediately and ran. The chief researcher who gave them their abilities tried to stick them with an evo suppressant substance, but they released a defensive burst of psychic energy before it could be done, destroying an unknown span of the woman’s memories and leaving her seemingly comatose on the ground. The guards followed the synthezoid to the Canadian border and, just as they were almost free, the synthezoid was shot with a needle containing the suppressant fluid. Subject G was knocked unconscious with a violent reaction to it that severely weakened their powers and, because of the psychic nature of their abilities, affected their memory as well. The American coast guard intercepted the Canadian officials before they could fetch their experiment, forcing them to leave the synthezoid drifting down the coast into Port Victoria.
(Known) Blink has vague memories of being in a tube with strange liquid that had slow-moving bubbles, almost like a green lava lamp. Whenever they try to remember anything before or after they only get vague glimpses of broken glass, a woman screaming, and people in black uniforms with rifles. Blink washed ashore Port Victoria in 2017 with no recollection of who they are or how they ended up drifting along the East Coast. A dock worker mentioned finding a letter that may have explained such details, but he forgot to pick it up after attending to the beached stranger. A kid called him “Blinky” because of their unusual eyes that never blink and they preferred that over “John Doe,” so that became their name.
