Evo Killer, Party of Two

Summer 2021, Week 3

Tuesday early evening

Moore Park, Victoria Field

Damian Eli

Damian sighed as he loosened the tie around his making his way into the dark grumbling about work and some asshole. "Some days I think I should have stayed back home and gone into a tech company. Lots of money, a nice car." He said all this out loud, but it was mainly to himself. He quickly pushed the thought aside what he was doing well about to do was important… he hoped. With another sigh, he dug into the backpack he had next to him and pulled out a container with his lunch. It also contained his armor just in case he needed to do superhero things. "Man. Who would have thought the orphan from Detroit thinking about superhero things" The thought made him chuckle as he took a bite of his sandwich and just enjoyed the nice weather.

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

Aloy’s week has been a bit crazy. It was nice for him to just hop into the driver’s seat of his old black C4 corvette. It wasn’t the smartest choice for a first car. And Aloy had been saving up for years to buy it from his neighbour and had been working for the majority of the summer to get it in a street safe condition. He smiled as he drove into somewhere near Moore Park. Grinning like a madman as he shut the door and locked it. His large and strong form admiring the car as one of his many family meals was being shoved into his mouth before he walked towards the grass and sat down.   “Got her working. God you were a pain, but I got ya workin’.”   He said with a chuckle to the air unaware people could hear him as he kept eating. His mother wouldn’t be proud of him for buying the car. But y’know what. When she’s around for a full year she can comment on his choices.

Damian Eli

Damian only noticed the man because of how large he was then he followed his gaze towards the car and whistled in admiration. "She's a beauty," he said from his bench, and he got up to walk over the other man.   "What year?" Damian wasn't a huge car buff, but he figured starting a conversation was better than thinking about how to start his career as a superhero because it was just stressing him out.

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

“Huh?” That was Aloy’s response. Because he had a mouth full of food. The young man looked over and brushed some hair back revealing his oak brown eyes as he finished his second burger, grabbing some fries. “S-she’s a pain. 1986 to 1997. Car’s older than my parents.”   Aloy’s voice was quite low for a young man, and he had stronger features. If Damian had seen him before his powers onset, he’d note the boy looked almost entirely different. But he probably didn’t.   “Y-you can call me Aloy.” He ended that sentence with fries being hungrily jammed into his mouth

Damian Eli

Damian smiled and noted the year. "That's a good one. And yeah, I bet she was. I'm Damian." The young man besides Aloy had dark brown eyes that were almost black along with a scar above his right eyebrow. He started to roll up the sleeves of his suit coat and shirt displaying the tattoos and scars that were hidden beneath the clothing. "How long have you had it?" He asked his voice was best described as scraping a brick against gravel this along with the tattoos and scars didn't match the three-piece suit he was wearing at all.

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

Aloy looked over. Expecting that to be the end of the conversation. Ugh why does everyone wanna talk suddenly?   He noted the scars and tattoos but didn't really comment. None of his business. "About two or three weeks. Just before summer started. H-hasn't been able to run until now. Neighbour left it in a shed and I bought it off of him. R-reckon I did t--the right thing."

Damian Eli

The man nodded and plopped down staying silent for a few minutes. "So, um. How about the dead people lately am I right?" "Man I'm totally nailing making a new friend a common subject now talking about the news. nailed it"   He didn't take his eyes off Aloy the whole time old habits die hard, and he wasn't letting his guard down especially around a man his size.

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

Aloy over this time kept eating more and more and more. He seemed to be digging through his bag like someone who hadn't ever eaten in his life.   "Uh....Yeah the increase has been a bit concerning. Got a bad feeling people are gonna blame it on Evo's again. Not that I am one but y'know getting dealt the short end of a stick doesn't go well historically speaking."   Aloy's brown eyes looked forward before they softly looked back, Why would you bring that up? That has got to be the worst small talk he has ever heard... kinda sounds like something a killer would say in a movie as an obnoxious hint...

Damian Eli

"Not that I am an evo?" He thought "Man that sounds like something an evo killer would say ..." He cleared his throat and didn't say anything for a second before speaking again. "Yeah. Evos really tend to get the short end of the stick... it really sucks ya know... Being blamed for the actions of a few I can't imagine being that bigoted, but I guess the human race always needs a scape goat" He sighed looking off for the first time seemingly lost in thought "I uh. Came here recently I'm rather new I can't believe bad Evos are treated I was hoping it would be better here" he said softly

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

"They're starting to get better treatment now. Mayor's doin' stuff but as per u----usual people ain't liking change. Doesn't really matter to me. Just treat them the same."   Aloy awkwardly dug back into his bag pulling out more food before he sips on his drink.   "It won't get much better til the mayor gets a bit more power."

Damian Eli

"That's true enough. I don't doubt that aren't any bad Evos I just don't like seeing people getting treated poorly because of it" He took his tie off completely before looking over at the young man again. "You sure eat a lot. Are you a bodybuilder or something?" Damian cracked his knuckles and twisted his back grunting sitting in an office chair all day in a cramped cubicle wasn't for him hence taking his lunch to the park and in the hopes of making a new friend.

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

Aloy shook his head no to the bodybuilder question. "I understand that and no. I'm a growing teenager. We eat a lot. I've hit a growth spurt and I'm probably gonna get another."   He simply explained sipping on his water. Cracking his knuckles as a silent 'Don't fuck with me' in response. Aloy had spent all day in the engine bay and was looking over to his car.

Damian Eli

Damian stood up again considering his next words carefully but decided against saying what he thought. "Take care of yourself kid. Something tells me I'll b me seeing you around.” And with that, he grabbed his backpack and fished the keys out of his pocket walking over to his Fatboy Harley-Davidson and getting on the bike. "I really hope that kids, not a killer because I'm pretty sure punching a minor and being a costumed vigilante is double illegal"

Aloysius ‘Aloy’ Fumi

"Ooooookay. I ain't a kid but whatever." Aloy said with an odd look as the man walked off before he finished his last burger and hopped into his car. The fine interior softly resting under him as he started the car and the engine whirred and spat.   "Oh fuck fucks sake." He reached into the boot and opened the hood and got to work eventually fixing the issue with the simple solution of duct tape and a 'She'll be right' mentality.

Damian Eli

Damian started up his bike and pulled his full-face helmet over his head. He made sure to catch Aloys license plate as he was leaving deciding against a tracking device. For now, he would just do his research and see what he could find. After he was sure he memorized the plate the bike tore down the road going back to the office
