Barnaby feels at home among his bees, along with all the other insects he likes to keep at home. He has more space dedicated to terrariums full of ant colonies and termite nests than he does for sleeping and eating. He's a kind man, with marked wrinkles along his eyes from smiling as well as a jolly gut that would win over just about anyone. Most people only ever see that side of him. However, his kind attitude has gotten him trampled on more than once in his life. These days, he's wary of any interaction with people who might be wanting to take advantage of him, or have a laugh at his expense. He's gotten pretty good at sniffing them out, but he still has never been able to bring himself to snap at someone, or get them back after they made a fool of him.Abilities

Barnaby was raised in a large house in the middle of nowhere. With plenty of forest right outside his door, he would spend his days outside playing with the myriad of bugs that populated them. His first friend was a fruit fly he named Bo.
During his time in college that he realized the big city and crowded spaces were terrible for his Evo powers. It was a state of constant sensory overload, which he only managed to assuage with years of exposure and the thorough use of his powers secretly. He feared being discovered.
Using his ability to communicate with insects, he managed to sail comfortably through his PhD studies by presenting new papers on the roots behind the behavior of insects. Many experts in the field took interest in him. He was a fledgling young scientist with a promising career ahead of him.
Pursuing his research brought him to what would eventually become New Victoria. However, his research flopped. As soon as he got his start, he was shot down by the inquisitive prodding of his peers. "How do you know that?" "I read through this source you cited, but I found no seeming correlation between their experiment and yours." He couldn't tell them about his powers without risking losing his job, his career...his insects. The world of academia forgot him as soon as it picked him up, but he harbored resentment for the unfair treatment he received. He could've brought enlightenment to the field!
