Colin Julian Denon
(a.k.a. BackTrack)
Personality
Colin doesn’t offer much in much of the realm of conversation. Not that he doesn’t want to, he just can’t seem to think of the right words to piece together. With all the practicing he does on introducing himself, you’d think he’d do it much more readily. Instead, He’s quick to sit back and read comic books or listen to his obsessively-constructed playlists on his phone.Evo Abilities

Personal history
Colin Denon’s life-long motto has been to never aspire to much, lest he get burned. This motto was not an organic one. It did not come from a life-long experience of experiences. It came to him through the lecturing of his father. Julian Denon was a masterful Broadway performer, with a heavy weight cast upon the was. Once roles stopped getting booked, his masterful improvisational brain devised the conclusion that the market was overcrowded with closet Evos. Super acrobats, singers, and dancers claimed the throne upon which he stood king. His retirement came with a disgraceful procession through the gates, where he was relegated to the life of a lowly Music Shop clerk.
Many of Julian’s interests were passed down to Colin, as if by some bizarre type of osmosis. Colin grew up in a home full of bootleg VHS tapes of his father’s performances, and from these he gathered an appreciation for musical arts. Although he had an adverse reaction to the center stage, he worked on the tech club for music concerts. Colin took pride in his ability to improvise solutions for broken microphones and sound equipment. When it came to high-stakes problem-solving, he breathed in discordant notes and exhaled jazz. The only muted skill he did not seem to inherit was a deep hatred for Evos. In fact, Colin found solace in walking amongst the different and extraordinary. He read up on comics for about as much as he listened to music, to a nauseating degree. However, both obsessions seemed to work in tandem for making him emotionally recluse. Colin was able to eat up the arts like they were breakfast, though choked at talking about anything else. He botched every social interaction, had a stress-induced panic attack at each of his college interviews, and couldn’t seem to land any other job except for the Music and Electronics Shop that his father worked at.
During a particularly slow shift at work, Colin decided to walk into the back room and toy with his pet project: a “headphone visor”. In actuality, it was a set of Bluetooth headphones hot-glued to a pair of ski-goggles, but it was only a prototype after all. “Just need to make it to six. Juuust need to make it to six.” He kept mumbling to himself. He looked down at his watch. 4:46. He pulled out the store’s rusty soldering set and started attaching the wires through to the play/pause button, the fast-forward button, and finally the rewind button. He checked his watch again. 4:48. “Record-time if I’ve ever seen it,” he smugly muttered to himself. But after looking at the watch again, he noticed that every third tick or so, the second hand moved back. “Damn.” he thought. “Need to get that fixed.” He looked at the clock on the 8-track next to him for guidance, which responded with a cleverly exaggerated impression of the timepiece on his wrist. He climbed out of the backroom and peered out at the clock on the storefront. The sight of the front of the store made his heart both sink through the floor and shoot up his throat.
Not only were the clocks starting to move backward, but the bustling city outside was rewinding in real time as well. Hurried pedestrians seemed unsure of their movements as they stuttered backwards. Colin watched in gleeful horror as a pigeon second-guessed giving a street performer good luck; the black film bouncing back and forth in the air before making contact on their chrome-painted head. And if you didn’t think New York traffic was bad enough, now it was so slow it was moving backwards. It took the whole rest of his shift for Colin to finally calm himself down and dispel the dreamscape of a world that stutters just as much as he does.
Desperate to control his newfound powers, Colin impulsively packed up what few belongings he owned and moved to New Victoria. Now moonlighting as BackTrack, he seeks to help out in whatever small ways he can.
