"For all we know there could be hundreds of scattered villages out there in the wastes who need our help, and Hell have it we never will, but that doesn't mean we stop trying." - King Cameron Valmore, Summit of Arms, 261 CA
Any adventurer worth his share of salt will tell you, there is more to the world than what few bastions of civilization remain amid the scorched ground the Great Schism left behind. A thousand crooked miles stretch across Everwealth's emerald plains, yet only 23 civilizations are known to what imprecise maps the populace has been able to produce with what little infrastructure has survived almost ceaseless conflict over the last few centuries. Though the Kingdom of Everwealth has seen a degree of success success in recent years, despite nearly five-hundred years since the Great Schism spent attempting to rebuild, safety is still only guaranteed, marginally, within the walls of those old crumbling fortresses which occupy the few and far known regions of the map. This is, save for a fortunate few survivors, who despite great disconnect, distance, or both from the medicine and resources the Kingdom provides, some entirely unknown to the Monarchy have weathered nearly 5 centuries of an unforgiving dark age unlike any the world has ever known before the Great Schism would carve its indelible mark into Gaiatia's history.
