The Arcane

"The cradle of all worlds, bringer of all things."

Geography

An impossible realm, an incomprehensible abstract madness of no laws where none may tread, yet the single most important place to all living beings of all known worlds. The land of the Arcane is peculiar to say the least, no ground or sky to be seen; A place of raw magicks with no discernable start or end, here the elements which make up our universe in their purest intangible form dance wildly in an infinite storm of colors and sounds. Fires which freeze, sideways lightning giving way to roaming plumes of smoke leaking rainbow fluid as-if a mighty bleeding serpent while sticking to itself like these slithering clouds are coated in viscous syrup; Blurred yet ubiquitously intense experiences of the most concentrated concepts composing our realms, flowing without physical restraint or limit bouncing and joining with eachother in discordant unison. Such unfettered magicks too powerful for any being and the physical laws that bind them, magick defining all, suffusing all, in it's purest state as-it-exists in the Arcane; Those who have uncovered the cosmic secrets required to even witness this wild land collapsing under the insurmountable strain of everything folk can experience all-at-once everywhere around them.

Ecosystem

Where elements, notions, time, stem from and are defined. Our worlds, Gaiatia, the Hells, the Otherworld, all allegedly in their infancy empty places of rock and metals adrift in endless emptiness; This Changing only when somehow the formless, ebbing and flowing energies of the Arcane found their way into them, punching holes into our worlds we call the stars, clinging to our dormant ancient realms of lifeless matter, magick for whatever reason drawn to physical constraints like water in a stream; The water (magick) itself formless and without direction, but when flowing through a channel (rock, metal, living beings) the water runs only through a predetmined path, allowing the raw unseeable magick composed of everything and nothing at-once to be predicted, controlled or studied while in our own realities.

Localized Phenomena

Lightning crackles along floating streams of light. No rime or reason to any of it, a fascinating dimension with no comparison.

Natural Resources

Magick, to put it simply, the font from which this energy flows, the planes in which we dwell lifeless stone husks floating amid an infinite black abyss without it. The purest form of magickal energies dwell here in chaotic, unhinged forms before funneled invisible and reserved into our world through the stars to be felt and manipulated yet, truly, unseen by the worlds and the folk within them; But a pauldry, what-would-seem insignificant amount of these energies the Arcane has to offer, yet absolutely everything to us...

History

The Arcane is commonly accepted as the source from which the energies of life flow into our realms; All accounts agreeing that for whatever reason, those attuned enough to magick to feel the current which it flows, feel a similar 'pull' into our world through the stars from, somewhere. The origin or spatial location of the Arcane a complete mystery, but... if a mage strong enough, ponders said stars long enough, they will soon find themselves gazing through a window into a mind-warpingly improbable plane composed of nothing yet simultaneously all things, a sheer chaos these mages' minds or sometimes even their bodies simply cannot bear.
