Understanding that Dulasia is the richest part of Meseline, the Imperials attempt to stop the Dulasians from raising a counterattacking force by cutting off supply lines and destroying ports.

The Imperal tactics for cutting off supply to Dulasia are -to most common folk- barbaric. Ships speed along the coase before dropping a few dozen troops each on the docks of a city. Some move inland to ambush supply caravans and burn fields. Others simply take to razing the port cities and their harbours to stop ships from unloading goods there.
