Desire for power and a lust for battle after the Hevettan Ceasefire, the Lowvires turn their attention West, to Velia.
Desire for power and a lust for battle after the Hevettan Ceasefire, the Lowvires turn their attention West, to Velia.
Led by Commander and Princess Pearl es Lowvire, Imperial longships bearing a small army land off the shore of Hadenfroy.
After the Imperial Landing, a fortress was quickly set up to maintain the foothold in Reledusian lands.
Having Landed near the riverside village of Cartherin, General Pearl es Lowvire decides to take the village in the name of the Emperor.
Unsurprised to see some sort of reaction to their landing in Velian territories, Black-Eye prepared for assault when they saw a Velian banner cresting a hill near the fort.
After the emissary arrived, the Imperial presence would surelyu be known to Velia. Fearing immediate response, the fortress began fortifying against siege.
In the light of the Velian knowledge of Lowvire presence, Pearl es Lowvire understands that the invasion has now, truly, begun.
Hateful of their new militarized rulers, the peasantfolk of Cartherin rise up in arms.
Fearing the invasion of one of the most powerful organizations in the world, Velia attempts a peaceful action.
Margrave Eldritch leads the charge on Omeranth, using Pearl and her troops as reinforcements and a rear guard.
With a plan to rendezvous in Esverath, a small army marches from Hover.
Positioned just outside Omeranth, the forces of Lowvire block the gates, and have a pair of boats manned with a dozen men each blockade the port.
The Army from Hover arrives in Esverath to find that the levee there has begun marching on Omeranth after they caught word of the siege.
The first legitimate and recognized fight between Lowvire and Velian forces. With Princess Pearl es Lowvire and her army of 200 troops set for ambush on one side, and Velia's 300 man levee on the other.
Faced with a superior foe that began a siege far before Omeranth was even slightly prepared, the city leaders organize a surrender to the Margrave's authority.
Slightly bloodied from the battle of the previous day, Pearl marches her army and its prisoners on Omeranth to join up with the Margrave.
With imperial pikes to their backs, the disguised Velian troops are forced to march into battle against the second Velian army.
With the combined show of power from the Battle of Bankswell, The Siege of Omeranth and the Battle of Kin, the Lowvires lay claim to the territory of Gwensovier and don't see any official diplomatic protest.
With invaders at their doorstep, the Velian councils working under King Geran decide to raise a stationed army in Andrala.
Bold and bolstered from their recent victories, Pearl decides its time to inact their grand plan. After some deliberation with Thelam, he eventually agrees.
The timing is impeccable. Suspicious, even. Just as the levee of Bremoor ups to leave the city, the ports are blockaded by the Imperial fleets and a pair of longboats begin sailing up the Meseline river.
Alarms sound and church bells ring throughout the Velian capital. The army isn't finished being raised. Only the city guards stand between the Lowvires and victory, and someone left the gate open...
The siege of Andrala went well, but not perfectly. Their 1,000 man army now cut by around half and the few Velian captives now getting antsy and threatening to break and fight back, the Lowvires understand that the battle wont be won today.
The blockade in Bremoor was a ruse. Where it looked like a landing was going to take place, the ships that remained in the bay were minimally manned. The two ships that went up the river? They were different.
A wave of disbelief ripples its way through Elfries as news of the siege of Andrala spreads. Some bow in fear of the Lowvires. Others flee to the other counties of Meseline.
In response to the news of Andrala's fall, Meseline's economic superpower Dulasia begins assembling a largely mercenary force to defend their southern border from Imperial forces from Bremoor.
No county in Meseline is quite as chaotic as Hadenfroy at this point in the war. They can no longer take orders from Andrala and they've already suffered two losses. They make a treaty with Dunferreth and start building a combined force to retake Andrala. These armies assemble and move to the Hadenfroyan villages of Layua, Doverus and Savitas.
A fleet of twelve Cattenian supply ships, headed by the trade craft Marsonfield, due for the Dulasian port city of Vilen are intercepted by a pair of Imperial galleys. After some skirmishing, Imperial boarders managed to identify that they were military supply ships posing as merchants. The imperials acted as though thery were intimidated by their numbers, offering to go their seperate ways, but as they pulled away, an imperial wizard aboard the RL Star Duke bombarded the ships with arcane fire; promptly burning them down in the waves.
Understanding that Dulasia is the richest part of Meseline, the Imperials attempt to stop the Dulasians from raising a counterattacking force by cutting off supply lines and destroying ports.
The order is given to the Hadenfroyan and Dunferrethian armies in southern Hadenfroy. They mobilize, ford the river and begin their march on Andrala. Communications manage to make it to Dulasia and they begin their own offencive.
While the Hadenfroyan/Dunferrethean armies march on Andrala, imperial forces stationed in Waywick pick up on their movement and relay them to the capital. Margrave Thelam Eldrich begins assembling defencive fortifications while Sir Feldavar Ei’Vermant, the commander of the Bremoor offencive, has his own idea.
Forced on the threat of annihilation, the Sylvan elves fight the approaching Velian armies in the mountains east of Andrala.
