The Beacon and the Darkening, Year in Evernight

Long night reigns in lands of Evernight. Sun rises from east on the dawn of the first day of the year, called the Beacon, and stays up for 24 hours, after which it disappears to the west. After sun is set, year goes on for 248 days without single day of sunshine, before the Darkening, the last day of the year when all the light of the lightstones is gone and world is darkest and coldest. After the Darkening comes the Beacon again starting new year. Year is divided to 5 months, Brightness, Lightness, Midness, Fadeness and Dimness, and each of these months is divided to five tendays. Passing of days is followed by appearance of stars and moon which appear to the sky during night time. Moon is always full.
Besides the Beacon and the Darkening there are not many important days considering all the people of the Evernight. Only other notably event in the year is the Reaping, which is in the middle of the year and is usually celebrated in honor of Maina the Lady of the Land and Galut the Watcher of the Dead. It is a time of harvest and honoring those who have passed away.
Current year in Evernight is 17th of 13th Millenia. Year count is reset every thousand years as dictated by Fatemaster Daiainai, the god of time and luck. Counting of time has begun from the time when Daylord, Nightlady and The Sleeper created the other gods and Fatemaster began his work
