The Weeping Widow

The Widow is said to be the mother of the twin gods Tian Shen and Tian Lao, and the wife of Leng Tian Shang. Legend holds that she was once a powerful god, the mother of the house of Heaven, and that when her twin sons quarreled and split she took her own life rather than choose between the two. She is a god of painful loss, but also the patron kami of Chuljin.

The Weeping Widow is the god that presides over the domains of loss, hatred, resurrection, insanity, and rivers. She is the god of motherhood and the patron of midwives.

Artifacts

From Widow's Lake, pearls of fantastic quality are harvested. Occasionally, one of these pearls is black in color and can grant magical abilities or even a wish to the one who finds it. These are associated with the Weeping Widow, and believed to be a blessing given to those who have lost someone important to them.

Holy Books & Codes

Moonlit Dawn is a song one hundred verses long, very mournful and meant to be sung quietly. While no holy text exists, the song is often quoted by followers of the Widow, passages are considered to be dire warnings and messages reinforcing the importance of family.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The symbol of the Widow is a veiled woman, often with two visible tear drops, one black and one gold. She is associated with songbirds and water lilies.
