Kobatu

The Kobatu are a race of dark-skinned Halflings, generally slightly shorter than the rest of their kin. They are native to the Amazwe savanna, and are masters of survival in that environment. Physically, they resemble miniature Zendalihumans, save for their oversized and furred feet. With the fall of Giant's Leap, the Kobatu have mostly returned to their traditional nomadic lifestyle, moving all over The Arid. Masters of mobile warfare, the Kobatu are famed for their use of ostriches as war mounts and are deadly with slings.
