Imperium Articles Four and Five: The Guard Is Charged With Eliminating Monstrous Threats Within Reason...

General Summary

Session Four

After the big bust, the party went home and were sent promptly to The Nook to crash for the night amongst the buns and rolls while landlady Vari Mildbluff installed a secret blacksite in their basement. Turned out that Dave and Cori were NOT informed of this ahead of time. Shenanigans ensue. The gang went to the Sky High Casino in the Lux district. They went in disguise and actually made good friends with both the well-to-do and the criminal element hanging out there. Barry won on the slots. Lemon inspired a trend of bowler hats amongst the wealthy. Eventually, Mr. Falcon's personal guard, the mad Halfling Alyx "Sweet Dreams" Smoak came down to the public area and clocked Sora and Lemon immediately. Morubash, unaware of this, tried to infiltrate the gang and get in Falcon's good graces with an impromptu minion interview. Unfortunately, combat ensued. The crazed shortling was no match for Morubash, Sora, Lemon, and Barry. The assembled gangers were taken out quickly, but Sweet Dreams turned invisible and dipped as Falcon revealed himself. He came down the stairs, stabbed Morubash directly in the heart, and surrendered. Morubash managed to pull through with help from his buddies. Falcon was taken back to HQ for questioning, and Lemon noticed Sweet Dreams hiding under the cart. He said nothing, and she was gone by the time they returned to North Ward. The fate of the Falcon is unknown by the party. They got paid by Lt. Chu, who slipped them a secret note indicating that the Captain would meet them at the blacksite tonight. By this point, Alicel and the Brothers Lasagna were moved into the secret illegal prison. 

Session Five

Okay, SO

• After work, Barry went to The Nook, tried their new maple bars, and schmoozed for an hour or so. Lemon was right behind him and talked Dave into trying out rental casks of hot coffee. He also picked up snacks. Sora went home immediately and practiced his swordsmanship. Morubash was also at the Nook and got a big ol bag of maple bars, which he brought to Alicel and the Brothers Lasagna and started a rapport with his new friends who were incapable of escaping under any circumstances. 
• Captain showed up disguised as a human. He enjoyed the coffee and donuts so much he promised to be the Nook's best customer. He and the gang spent hours coming over the HR files of dozens of people in the department (except Morubash, who patrolled the outside to watch for suspicious characters, and for no other reason). They found a few names that might be the traitor to get started, then went to speak with Alicel. 
• Interrogation followed whilst Barry snuck off to nap. (All clues can be found pinned in the Discord). After a solid hour of questions and answers, they were down to four names, including Chu, but it's important to note that they only made it through half the files. The Captain warned that this operation must remain secret, and they would have to work on it in their downtime. And that this is dangerous AF. 
• Next morning, they swung by the Nook on captain's orders to grab breakfast for the whole precinct (Barry bought better breakfast for the whole party before this). Dave let the party know that the Captain had made him open early for secret pastries and coffee (and Lemon made some connections. Could Mrs. Captain like raspberries and chocolate? Is the Captain a really caring partner to his evil and hot secret wife?)
• Gang was assigned to Monster Patrol duty. After a safety briefing with Lt. Underwater, they went on patrol. Nothing happened until after lunch, when the call for help went up. They saved a patrolman from a viscous lion, beat up the lion without killing it, saved a little old lady who evidently owned the lion, and arrested her after it became apparent that she had been running a giant daycare in her tiny apartment with a massive underfed lion in a tiny underprotected cage.

Notes

Session Four took place in Lux, a nightlife district full of all kinds of entertainments, legal and otherwise. It is very popular with the city's wealthy elite, and generates plenty of taxes for the city through tourism while requiring food and supply donations from the rest of Triumph. Lux is known to be a hotbed of organized crime and is supposedly the Iron Shadow's stronghold, the place where all the hundred gangs of Triumph come to pay tribute to the Guild.
