Imperium Article One: The Guard Shall Consist Of No More Than...

General Summary

A beautiful autumn day in the Imperial capital of Triumph, three strangers arrive in search of employment, a place to stay, and new friends. These are Sora, a human Magus. Raynard Lemon, a Halfling Investigator. Morubash, a Half-Orc brawler. Already living in Triumph was Barry Greencrest, a Halfling Bard. Each of our heroes were slowly drawn through their needs to a tavern in the Leap district, a place called Destiny, that Barry was performing at. They learned that the guard was hiring for good money AND that the proprietor of Destiny (a Halfling wizard by the name of Vari Mildbluff) knew of a fellow near guard headquarters with a big house for rent. Also, she "fired" Barry (who may or may not have "hired" himself into the tavern) so he had to join on this scheme as well. 
They went to become guards, (stopping to make a bank account first) meeting Captain Gerin (a Half-Orc Half-Elf Fighter) and his hellhound hybrid Chompers. They were let into the guard, and because Morubash can definitely read he was gifted a copy of the book of laws, the Codex Imperium. 
Now with proof of employment, they went to get their house, which as it turns out was also owned by Vari. The gang read the book, got furniture, and Barry got banned from the closest tavern (The Better Mouse) for performing without an invitation. 
The next day, the gang went to work. They rescued a gnome being bullied by some mechanically-savvy ruffians. This gnome, Wremop Pebblestamp, treated them to lunch in his eatery (Chilled Drink Future Emporium And Eatery) and invited them to come back for free stuff any time they liked. The captain was impressed, they collected their day's pay from Chu (Human Economancer), and went home for more shenanigans. Who knows what the future holds?

Notes

This session primarily took place in the North Ward, an entryway district of Triumph that is the only district that can function on it's own. The most recent construction, North Ward is home to the Watch headquarters as well as a wide variety of businesses, Guild outposts, merchants, and work opportunities. North Ward is often described as "the least interesting place in the whole city" because it is basically a city by itself, able to function without any kind of support from the other districts. It has more taverns per resident than any other Imperial neighborhood.
