Dracorex, God of Storms
While best known as the god of storms and sailors, Dracorex claims more holy domains than any other deity. He is the father of all dragons, he is the lord of the deepest places, master of the oceans, bringer of all natural disaster, he is the deity that is prayed to out of the vain hope that his wrath can be appeased. He is venerated by all sailors as the lord of the ocean, by the Braithstrom as their ancient god-king and progenitor, by dragon cultists as the creator of true magnificence, and wicked Druids who find divinity within earthquakes and wildfires, though most Illirians will send him worship and sacrifices at one point or another to forestall disaster.
Divine Domains
Dracorex presides over the domains of Strength, Water, Weather, Skalykind, and Law. He is the god of storms, of the oceans, of dragons and power. His is the domain of strength above all else, and his power reflects this.
Holy Books & Codes
The Coming Storm, written by a long-forgotten prophet, is a series of poetic passages that describe the world coming to an end in rain and thunder, and the Storm King's Men tend to believe it is the sacred word of Dracorex.
"With thunder will the waves crash against the shores, and tilt them topside as a ship in storm. The great rain will drown those who look upwards to escape the floods, and the lighting will smite all those who still in those apocalyptic days deny the might of the dragon god."
Divine Symbols & Sigils
A bolt of lightning is the chosen symbol of Dracorex. Everything to do with dragons is of Dracorex. His favored weapon for his warriors is the trident, and a wyvern is often interpreted as a symbol of Dracorex and his divine wrath.
Tenets of Faith
The Strong Inherit, the only message of the Storm God, is an ideal lived by his followers.
Holidays
Thunderbolt, the last day of Tempora is a day of fear. Offerings are left to dragons, if any are nearby. Sailors never start a voyage on this day. The Storm King’s Men have been known to sacrifice one or more of themselves on this day in spectacular fashion.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Dracorex dreams of a world of dragons and thunder, and subtly works to bring on this goal. All shall be the Stormscape. Until then, he is one of the balancing forces of the gods, a mighty weapon to be unleashed upon those deities who upset the fragile peace.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Dracorex takes the form of a massive dragon made of living lightning. His eyes are storm clouds ever-raining, and the spikes that go down his back are solidified thunder.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Dracorex seeks to mold mortalkind into the strongest version of itself, able to survive any and all disasters. He has no pity for the weak and less use for them. To this end does he plague the world with earthquakes, storms, fires, and pestilence.
Social
Family Ties
Dracorex, first son of Fortissimus and Kiaru, is very active in the affairs of the gods. He is often the one to bring the others to talk when a balance is corrupted. He is the husband to the passion goddess Kyreni, who he stole from Fortissimus in the afterlife. They are together the progenitors of all dragonkind.
