Celestial Cosmology
While there was once a single moon and a bright sun, this has not been the case for nearly a thousand years. The sky is lit by the fifteen moons, which are the homes of the gods. The brightest moon in the sky is always referred to as "the sun" and it dictates the color of the sky and of fire, among other things. This is always the moon of whichever god happens to be the most powerful at the time, the measure of which is entirely unknown to mortalkind. The moons are always visible, save in their new phase. Day and night happen regularly and instantaneously, at the command of The Seasonal, who is the god of time. Similarly, what season it is is determined by which month it is, each of which is holy to a specific god. The seasons also change instantaneously, with no transitional period.
