Bastion
Bastion is a city of magic built by the Order of the Eye with assistance from their counterparts in other realities. It is located above the planet Uro but within the empty space of the Prime Material Plane. It is kept invisible to those below it.
Demographics
Bastion's entire population is made up of magic-users and their families, many of which do not stay on the station permanently. Just like the Guild itself, Bastion is made up of all kinds of people, as affinity for magic is equally likely among all the known races. Those born aboard Bastion are almost entirely likely to develop sorcerous powers.
Government
Bastion is a Guild Settlement, ruled over by a council of wizards elected by their fellows. Among this council, a Prime Executor is chosen. The Executor generally rules for life, but can be removed by a majority Vote Of No Confidence by the citizens of Bastion or by direct order from an Archmage.
Infrastructure
Bastion is built under the assumption that a majority of it's inhabitants are familiar with arcane magic and the use of magic devices. The environment of Bastion is seemingly chaotic, but actually carefully planned for the convenience and comfort of each of it's many inhabitants. Rivers run freely through the sky, gravity works in reverse or doesn't exist in places, rooms move themselves to make room for new buildings. The mainstays of Bastion infrastructure are Limited Teleportation Circles, which take citizens from one building to a nexus, from which they can choose a new location. There are also magical beasts and automatons that serve as transportation for those prone to Displacement Nausea and to otherwise maintain the station.
Districts
There are twenty-two residential neighborhoods spread out across Bastion, each serving a different purpose in addition to it's housing. Aside from that, the Avenue of the Arcane holds a school dedicated to each kind of magic. The Aquarium is a spheroid district that protrudes from the station filled with water for aquatic members of the guild and for farming. The Fortress is a heavily guarded empty district for the inhabitants of Bastion to flee to in times of emergency, and the Foreign Quarter is a place where other worlds and realities are studied, and extraplanar visitors are sent to stay.
