Potkeepside

The village got its name from the nearby Potkeep, which was renamed Barrelkeep at the beginning of the Fourth Era, after its collapse, as only one intact residential tower remained. The village was built on the trade route, although this causes the locals as much trouble as satisfaction. The comings and goings of a large number of strangers, caravans and traveling merchants have resulted in the villagers being wary of strangers.

The head of the village is Arian Blossom, a smart and decided widow. She is the Steward-Assistant and answers to the royal steward in the affairs of the village.

Districts

1. Market: Almost a quarter of the village is covered by the Market, where many vendors offer their wares and services, from live animals to magic items of dubious origin. There are rumors that you can get a lot of things in this mess that are not completely legal, but this is denied by the constantly marching city guards and Mrs. Arian. At the heart of the market stands a once very beautiful and noble carriage, painted in red and purple colors. The Old Ingaretta, who claims to see the future, awaits her guests here.
2. Workshops and warehouses: Two rows of houses from the Market there are a few workshops: pottery and glass-blowing furnaces are lined up in the courtyards. At one end of the street stands a fairly new wooden platform, with gallows. Mrs. Arian ordered it to be placed here to see if it would discourage the criminals. At the other end, the Inn and stables of the Lonely Hill await guests.
3. Residential buildings: Among the residents of Potkeepside there are just as many successful traders as there are laborers and day laborers with a difficult fate. All kinds of houses stand along the streets, with the local general store modestly tucked between them. Estanna's shrine has been maintained by the residents since the last priestess passed away.
