Seriphan Empress Stellamaris Nicoletta Annabella Au Seripha (a.k.a. "the Accomplished," "Stella")
The reigning Empress. Her ascension was marred by disorder, as she was hastily crowned after the assassination of her mother and the country entering in the Second Seriphan Civil War. She made her abilities known as she negotiated with warring factions, put down rebellions, and crushed the Myranese independence movement, earning her the epithet of "the Accomplished." She's widely respected, and those close to her describe her as sweet and kind, but definitely sharp, and even a bit... odd.

Her most recognizable features are her peach hued eyes.
Special abilities
From an early age, she displayed a knack for magic and went onto extensively study it, choosing to specialize in offensive flesh magic- in particular, blood. A common tactic of hers is to lowering or raising the acidity of a target's blood, usually causing death through brain death or heart arrhythmia. This can be done rapidly, killing in a matter of minutes, or slowly, over a period of months. While she needs to be within a certain range of the target for it to work, she can do it from a distance. She generally prefers more subtle ways of killing, like manipulating blood pressure.

Personal history
The Empire was already struggling even before Stella came to be; it had languished in the neglect of Empress Lucinda, her grandmother, and her mother had struggled to keep the country together. Prior to her birth, her father Maddox died under mysterious circumstances. Fearing for her daughter's safety, Nicoletta sent her away from the capital to be raised in a trusted official's country estate. She hoped that regardless, Stella would still gain the skills to one day rule the Empire, and perhaps, bring it back to an age of glory.
Stella didn't display a natural aptitude for her studies, and often struggled with maintaining decorum and manners. However, she showed talent for magic, which she took to studying. She received the best schooling from the most educated women and men of the Empire, but she also met two crucial figures- Bellona Enya d'Raph, a young member of the estate owner's family, and Arielle Cleantha d'Anthis, part of the powerful Anthis Naval family. She became extremely close with the two over the course of their childhood, even though the three had to eventually separate. The two young girls even developed something of a rivalry over Stella's affections, which is something that amuses her to this day. While Arielle and Bellona prepared for their future careers serving in the military, Stella had the matter of her ascension. Despite their busy lives, she kept in contact through letters.
At the age of 17, to the shock of everyone, Empress Nicoletta was assassinated entertaining guests at a dinner party- her drink had been poisoned. The already unstable Empire was launched into chaos. The Elvish nation began to pull away from relations, wary of the collapsing country, and unrest grew among the people and the Church. The Myranese Islands even broke out in full rebellion, seeking to take back their independence from the Elorens. She was crowned in a rushed coronation ceremony, and embarked on a mission to restore the country, putting down rebellions, consolidating power and eliminating enemies. Arielle and Bellona were quick to seize their own power, and make clear whose side they were on.
As part of negotiations with rebelling provinces, Stella relented to having a council rule besides her, checking her powers. The upper house would be composed of appointed nobles and affluent individuals, and the lower house would be made of those elected by commoners. Despite this, Stella still wields enormous power, in no small part thanks to the loyal supporters she appointed to the upper house.
As the Second Seriphan Civil War came to a close, Stella could finally turn her focus to other matters of governance, as well as the question of inheritance. At Arielle's suggestion, she took on a male member of the Anthis family as a consort, Elliot d'Anthis. Months after the formal declaration of peace, she gave birth to their daughter, Fiorella, Heir Apparent to the Seriphan Empire. It's been noted that while Stella and Elliot appeared to get along perfectly well in ceremonies, Stella didn't seem to have much interest in him outside of the public eye. This became glaringly apparent when she unexpectedly gave birth to another child, Evelina, the product of an amorous affair with a visiting Desert Elf.

It has been noted that Stella doesn't seem to be attracted towards heavily masculine types, and appears to have a preference for androgyny.

On a personal basis, she is bright and sweet, but also pragmatic and calculating. After all, it was under her that the current purges against the Myranese started. Those in close contact with her do note that her saccharine exterior combined with her sometimes dark sense of humor and brutal practicality can be… dissonant, for one. Disturbing is a less kind way of saying it.
