Background

during the great crisis the caravan people sided with the sultan. there leaders raised small armed bands and harassed the invaders army. Ion pasha became a figure for there fight being one of them. he also inspired the Recanik people who live south of the black mouths who shared a common heritage.
after the war the two group felt more like one group. this grew into nationalism.
