Northern Dithmarburg

The fog of war lies thick when armies scorch the land

The lands in the north of Dithmarburg are the most fertile and populous of the Heavenly Empire, numerous rivers flow through the region from both the mountains of Avignon and Sudeten to the Northern Seas, the most famous of these being the Albe River in the Duchy of Branenwick. For travellers, the area is a frequent location for traders and travellers heading to the Imperial cities in Dithmarburg, espically those from the lands of Angelia and The Mark. The three main princes of this region are the Dukes of Branenwick and Brehen, and the Constant of Annzig, the last of which is known for it's Dwarven diaspora.

Geography

The Northern Dithmarburg is an area of farms, small settlements, large rivers and rolling hills between the sea of Fendalia, the mountains of Avigon and Sudeten and the Dithmarburg Plateau. The area is regarded as a beautiful region with many natural sites and the mountains far off in the horizon.   It is also generally a safer region in Evantian, as dangerous animals, most natural diasters and criminal activity are less common here, however due to it's coast and many rivers can be prone to flooding. The War of Arterium has changed this, the area has been ruined as it served as the main front and battlefields for the War of Arterium, leading to severe depopulation of the region and a loss of any prosperity in the area.

Fauna & Flora

Most animals seen in the area are either small, docile or domesticated creatures, however more dangerous animals aren't unknown in the area.   In spite of deforestation, many conifer forests still cover the land, while most of the land is either farmland or grassland with only small bush plantlife. The famous Dithmarburg Rose is the most famous of many flowers of great value that naturally grows in the region.

Natural Resources

Northern Dithmarburg is plentiful in agricultural resources, from both farming and grazzing. The many rivers also give the region an abundance of fresh water. Small mines and quarries can be found, especially near the borders but aren't common.
