Brimstone

A strange and rare metal, often used in the worship of Tolaris Foc, the God of Fire.

Properties

Material Characteristics

The metal is primarily brown-black, with hints of shining red and orange, like embers.

Physical & Chemical Properties

The metal is quite versatile, being useable in powdered and solid form. It can be as strong as steel, or as flexible as leather if handled correctly by a master craftsman. It's melting point is relatively low, considering the other attributes it shows, however, it cannot be melted unless under very specific conditions. To melt and form the metal, one needs to use Hallowed Flame, blessed by Tolaris Foc, one reason it earned the name of Hallowed Brimstone among those who use it. The metal also has a strange property that allows it to burn virtually eternally, with little to no damage. In fact, burning the metal can often restore it. This does not hold true for the powdered version, however, as the small grains burn up over about an hour, but are destroyed after, leaving whatever they were on charred.

Compounds

There is no recorded metal Brimstone has been known to react well with. Weaker metals left exposed to it for too long are even known to begin to burn up, crack or melt, leaving only the Brimstone behind, unscathed.

Geology & Geography

Brimstone has only ever been found hidden within the Valley of the Gods. It seems to grow randomly and in sudden bursts. Some have attributed this to the weird, Celestial magic pulses that seem to emanate from the Valley.
