Ascension

Any creature may kill a creature higher in the Divine chain than it and take its place. Mortals are the lowest in the chain and hence can challenge a Primordial for their place in the chain. Primordials may challenge Angels. Angels may challenge Seraphs. Only Seraphs may challenge Primary Deities. And only a Primary Deity may challenge Khorshid or Selene.
In order to challenge one above, the challenger must be in possession of The Book of Ascension. Once the ritual is complete, the body becomes prepared and a soul may take the body of one higher than it.
