Physical Description
Body Features
With no true form of his own, Mephiles' baseline appears as a cloud of dark, impermeable mist.
By absorbing someone's shadow, however, he can take on a form similar to theirs, different only in that it is a flawed copy. Paler, ashen skin, red irises against green sclera, and hair that fades into smoke at the ends. Not to mention the complete lack of any sort of mouth.
He is also capable of taking on a form that is like a shadow of his former true self, a large black-coloured dragon of the night, sleeker than any true black dragon, but not serpentine like a deep dragon. In this form, he does have a mouth.

Whatever he feels like, but it often mimics the clothing of whoever's form he's 'borrowing.'

Crystalline dagger, which is divine and stronger than adamantine. Only summoned if he must enter melee combat.

Being torn asunder into two pieces, and forever being unable to be whole again for long. Right next to it is being trapped inside a staff, while being forced to watch as the world hurled towards a future that would ultimately destroy it utterly.
Intellectual Characteristics
Sadistic, clever, mischievous, and highly intelligent, his outward manner is often amiable and dramatic, but make no mistake - he takes joy in disharmony and devastation, in war, famine, pain, and suffering, of natural disasters wiping out decades or more of hard work.
Truly evil, and yet, still more than that. He can care, and still loves the planet Alluani itself very deeply, willing to actively work against certain futures if they would permanently harm the world. For while he delights in his role in the universe, he also understands his place in it.
He may also grow to care about some mortal or other, if they impress him enough, but thus far only Sholto Liam and Ithamar have been able to in living memory.
