Gernumblies
Gernumblies are small magic creatures known to infest gardens, especially any gardens that contain magic plants.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Gernumblies grow to be approximately one foot tall. They are usually brown or grey in color, and have large heads with razor-sharp teeth. They have hard bony feet and long nails on their hands.
Genetics and Reproduction
Gernumblies breed very quickly. Once pregnant, gernumblies will be expectant for about 30 days, and then will have a litter of 8-12 young.
Growth Rate & Stages
Gernumblies reach adulthood after just 4 months.
Ecology and Habitats
Gernumblies live in burrows underground, sometimes called Gernholes.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They eat the roots and make holes in gardens, which often kill the plants growing. Gernumblies prefer roots of magical plants, such as those used for spell components or alchemy, and so they gravitate toward magic gardens.
Behaviour
Gernumblies wreak havoc on gardens, are are considered a pest. While they prefer to eat plants, they have sharp teeth and long fingernails, and will attack if they think their food or gernhole is under threat.
Conservation Status
Gernumblies are considered invasive pests.
