Bufobanne

The Bufobanne are an ethnic group of the Amphibanne that possess much more water-tight skin, less agile forms, and bulky bodies. These Amphibanne are often found in regions far from large bodies of water, as many are able to live for weeks without fully immersing in water.

Appearance-wise, Bufobanne appear as humanoid toads, often with warty glands that excrete toxic poison when pressed; their coloration ranging from vibrant greens and oranges to the color of the soil of the regions they live in.

Surprisingly, Bufobanne are incredibly close to nature, believing that all things have spirits, which they worship, regardless if the creature or object is good or evil. They give all things reverence and find it incredibly disrespectful when others don't respect the natural world, as seen in the government in Manoko or Empyria.

Bufobanne are known for the powerful toxin their skin can secrete, known as bufotoxin, which is a dangerous paralytic poison.

Toxic Skin

Any creature that grapples you or otherwise comes into direct contact with your skin must succeed on a Fortitude saving throw (DC = 8 + your Fortitude modifier) or become poisoned for 1 minute. While poisoned, the creature is also paralyzed. A poisoned creature no longer in direct contact with you can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

You can also apply this poison to any piercing or slashing weapon as part of an attack with that weapon, though when you hit the poison reacts differently. The target must succeed on a Fortitude saving throw or take 2d4 poison damage.

Additionally, due to your poisonous tendencies, you have resistance to poison damage and immunity to the poisoned condition.

Land Dwellers

Your tougher skin allows you easy access across more parched landscapes. You and your kind need not worry about the same issues your wet-skinned counterparts possess, and can spend weeks without requiring moisture. However, your kind still require water for drinking and for spawning.

Additionally, your skin is too thick to allow you to breathe through it, so you cannot stay underwater indefinitely like your other kin. At most, you can spend 5 minutes underwater without requiring air.

Also, due to your lifestyle, you have a burrow speed of 15 ft, though you cannot use it on hard soils or solid rock.
