Axalobanne
Considered a subethnic group of the Salabanne, Axalobanne are almost entirely aquatic, enjoying the warm, lush waters of the Isles of Zuraor, using the lakes and rivers to create cities, farms, and forage areas that normally wouldn't be accessible.
Appearance-wise, Axalobanne share similarities to aquatic salamanders like Sirens, Mud Puppies, Chinese Salamanders, and Axolotls, though these appearances heavily depend on the region their from, as it seems that some Salabanne have become Axalobanne at vastly different times throughout history, with the rarest hailing from Empyria and having the appearance of Olms; their coloration generally falls under mottled greys, browns, and blacks, though more colorful individuals are known to exist.
Axalobanne are known for their regenerative abilities, as they can restore their limbs and body parts without repercussion.
Unique to the Axalobanne, they worship a being they call Xolliot, who they say has the beak of a humming bird, the body of a squid, and the shell of a nautilus. It is this god that they believe grants them many of their unique abilities. It seems that even though countless populations are separated by huge distances and are entirely unrelated, all these Amphibanne worship Xolliot exclusively, forming the hypothesis that it is this Xolliot that turns Salabanne into Axalobanne.
