Duskgrave
The town of Duskgrave is ever on the verge of growing into a proper city. A minor trading town who's goods and visitors are as transient as fragile mortal lives in the Black Mire beyond to the east. Set at a crossroads between the Garrison town of Fallowheart to the west, Malkovia to the northeast, and Riven to the southeast, it enjoys the spoils of a rich trade nexus. Such a position does not come without it's dangers though. Agents from Raevo and Soma find themselves engaged in machinations grand and minor amongst the local populace, with the townsfolk suffering the burden of the violence of their ideological differences.
Government
The leader of the intrepid and hardy people of Duskgrave is the Duke Virgil Marius Duskgrave. A vampire of the Crimson Court, under the leadership of Grand Duke Drago Koshevek, located in Nov Ostoya. A significant detour from the status quo of vampiric overlords, Duke Duskgrave takes a vested interest in the safety and prosperity of his people. A strict code of ethics and stringent guidelines for operations by his thralls and spawn ensure a relationship more akin to symbiotic rather that parasitic between the undead and mortals.
Rumors abound that the Duke's late wife, Sophia, disappeared under mysterious circumstances and his rage has left his demeanor and his ranks in a measure of disarray. His five children have since taken up several roles of ground level leadership left empty by the absence of his presence.
Economy
The town of Duskgrave is idyllically suited to trade, located at a crossroads between the territories of Raevo and
Soma. It is westerly located and thus many traders and immigrants from the
The Burach Empire fine their way to this hub, bringing with them a plethora of goods and information of current events. The interaction is certainly not one-sided though. Magical items from Raevo find their way into Soman and Burach hands under the heavy taxes of
Duke Virgil Marius Duskgrave . Rumour has it that Duskgrave has a large inventory of magical equipment, though the price may be higher than anticipated.
