Yzucera Character in Eternal Spire | World Anvil

Yzucera

Yzucera Iriny (a.k.a. Ishikura)

Brief

Yzu is not a Draac born of the Spire or of any Dynasty founded there. He's one of the fortunate few to have been picked up during a Hunter's foray, freed from a cage and brought back to the Spire. Practically, Draac are always willing to take in agreeable new blood to keep the lines at the Spire fresh. Thus, Yzu was an easy fit.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Slender, agile, and quick. Seemingly fragile, though far more sturdy than he seems. As a fae, he's naturally light.

Body Features

Dark, almost iridescent purple-blue skin that has some silvery sheen to it in some places. Blue, metallic designs that seem almost tribal in nature present in all of his forms. His frills are only present in his Draac form, though he retains his wings in his hybrid.

Identifying Characteristics

Yzu's most distinguishing features, in a world of Draac that are already so varied, is his metallic filligree accents. They're intricate, delicate lines that frame the edges of his wings and the lines of his body. This is true for both his Draac and his humanoid form. It's a trait that runs through his particular bloodline and something that he's rather proud of - and difficult for him to polymorph and hide away.

Personal history

Yzucera is one of many, in a filigreed fae bloodline. His family and clutch was never close and, as soon as he was able to fend for himself, Yzucera was set loose on the realms.   As a social creature, Yzu did rather well for himself until his fortune took a sharp turn for the worst. When a medeival populace discovered he was a dragon in disguise, he was captured and locked away while the Knights tried to figure out what they would do with the Dragon. All manner of ill fortunes were blamed on his presence.   Such news travels fast. A Coatl in disguise freed Yzu and brought him back to the Spire, where she kept an eye on him until the Tiniad met him and offered him a place to stay.

Gender Identity

Yzu is obviously male and presents as such but he doesn't fret about the specifics or technicalities. He's quite happy to play house wife and lady Draac for Makoliku.

Morality & Philosophy

Yzu is a relatively good Draac. He prefers to eat intricately prepared insects - he likes to think he's a pretty good cook. He's not a violent draac and is more apt to run away or, as history has proven, get captured then put up a fight. He just doesn't have it in him.   He isn't above collecting or stealing things. Possessions don't have the same meaning to Yzu - or how someone might value them. If it is expressed that something does have value, he's happy to part with it. He just likes neat things - and anything can be a neat thing.

Personality Characteristics

Vices & Personality flaws

by Caroline Hernandez
Yzu is, at base, a hedonist. He does things because it feels good and is motivated by that very selfish whim. He chases adventure without a thought to his own safety - usually a concern he leaves to Mako now - and doesn't think how his actions might affect those around him. It just doesn't matter to him. It isn't that he's apathetic or that he doesn't care, it just never enters his mind until it's brought up.   Mako has been the only one that's been able to reign him in, and only just.

Failures

Yzu wouldn't say any of his mistakes or fumbles are embarassments, but most Draac would consider being caught by mortals a story to take to the grave. Such things are the sort that Yzu is inclined to laugh about later on and doesn't mind being the butt of a joke. Every mistake he's made is a lesson to learn from and, while in the moment it was hardly entertaining, he's easily able to smile about it now.

Motivations

Yzu is driven by an endless curiosity about the Realms. He wants to see, touch, taste, and smell all of the new things and has a very real appreciation for all the different cultures he comes in contact with. This is one of the large motivations for his lack of violence and willingness to be caught and caged rather than fight. He feels like, as an eternal creature, he has a priveledged position and doesn't feel like he has a right to kill things that already have such short lives.   He's an honest, easy Draac that just wants to experience things.

Social Aptitude

Yzu is a very social Draac. He sees the world through an almost innocent lense in this regard, though it is rare one Draac will try to kill another. While he can be a touch more trusting than he should, Yzu isn't naive or ignorant that the world is full of rogues, cutthroats, and thieves. Rather, he has a remarkable judge of character and tends to effortlessly gravitate toward those that are just as friendly as he is while easily skirting away from those that might otherwise be a problem. It's almost like he's just lucky.

Wealth

Yzu has a fair bit of wealth - but it is frequently buried and unintentionally hidden amongst all of the silly things he's collected from the realms. He doesn't always know the actual value of the things he has. For a Draac, he does fine. No one would say he has a hoard, or even that he's wealthy. By mortal standards, Yzu could retire for centuries and be more than comfortable on most realms.
