Effect
Living Creatures:
With this spell you decide to reduce or enlarge a target within range. The amount of mana points change for different types of things you wish to resize. You will either reduce the target by half their height and weight making them one size category smaller, or enlarge the target by doubling their height and weight making them one size category larger. If the target is reduced: the target gains a +2 size bonus to Dexterity, a -2 size penalty to Strength (to a minimum of 1), and a +1 bonus on attack rolls and AC due to its reduced size. If the target is enlarged: the target gains a +2 size bonus to Strength, a -2 size penalty to Dexterity (to a minimum of 1), and a -1 penalty on attack rolls and AC due to its increased size. All equipment worn or carried by a creature is similarly reduced or enlarged with the target. See the weapons damage size conversion table for damage adjustments.
Expending 3 mana points: Limits the target to a humanoid creature.
Expending 15 mana points: Removes the limiter of humanoids only.
Material Component: A small ball of iron. (both mana amounts)
Items:
Like the living creatures, you decide to enlarge or reduce the item touched at the time of casting. The duration for a resized item is 1 day/ mana rank.
Expending 10 mana points: The caster of this spell touches a non-magical object (which may only be within the limitations of Colossal size) that immediately enlarges or reduces the object. This change effectively changes the object’s size by four categories. Objects reduced by this spell can be returned to normal composition and size merely by tossing them onto any solid surface or by a word of command from the original caster. Even a burning fire and its fuel can be shrunk by this spell. Restoring the shrunken object to its normal size and composition ends the spell. Objects enlarged by this spell lasts for the extent of the duration or until the object is reverted back to its normal size, which may be done by the caster speaking a command word.
This spell on items can be made permanent with a permanency spell, in which case the affected object can be shrunk and expanded an indefinite number of times, but only by the original caster.
