Fireball
Effect
Expending 3 mana points creates a bolt of fire rather than a ball. The bolt is small and will only travel a short distance from you before it dies out. The attack deals 1d4 points of fire damage per Mana tree rank (maximum 6d4). This is a ranged touch attack.
Expending 6 mana points the bolt becomes a burst. A ranged touch attack to hit the target, then anyone within 5 feet requires a reflex save to avoid the burst. The attack deals 1d6 points of fire damage per mana tree rank (maximum 6d6).
Expending 10 mana points you are beyond a simple bolt or burst, may your enemies quake at your might, you are now able to throw a full-fledged fireball with a 20-ft.-radius spread. This fireball is not manipulated very well, other than where its center will be. If your target is too close, this will strike a friend, foe, or even yourself regardless of your wishes. Though the initial fireball burst is magical fire, anything this ignites will continue a more natural burn and require water to put out, so watch for wood, trees, clothes, and taverns when choosing this spell over others. The attack deals 2d6 points of fire damage per Mana tree rank (maximum 12d6).
Expending 22 mana points allows you to delay the fireball you learned to create at the lower mana expenditure. The fireball you have thrown is now able to be set more like a trap, delayed before bursting out on your enemies to allow friends to get out of the way. The power of the blast has increased too, 2d10 points of fire damage per mana tree rank (maximum 12d10).
