Chapel of Edhor

Purpose / Function

A chapel founded in honor of a martyr of the Order of Iegaglar. Edhor was an Alendar who came to Tog Darahl as a missionary. He was executed by dwarven rune-makers who disagreed with his exhortations to ban magic use in the nearby towns.

Architecture

Fashioned in the style of the Alendar, the building was made out of black stone with elegant stained glass. The structure has a domed shape with a spiral tower protruding from the middle that ends in with a bell.

Defenses

When it was in use, the chapel employed an anti-magic field pioneered by the Order of Iegaglar. It has since fallen into disrepair.

History

Founded to honor the martyr, Edhor, it became an important site of worship for members of the Order of Iegaglar. It eventually joined the order's pilgrimage route and became a focal point for recruiting.   The tensions between the order and dwarven settlements nearby, particularly Hlymrek, were in constant flux. As the order matured and the chapel became an important landmark, the tensions settled. In its more recent years the chapel welcomed many worshippers from Hlymrek.   During the recent Devil invasion the chapel was used as a stronghold for members of the order. They tried to fortify it and use it as a command center from which they could plan out rescue missions and raids against enemy territories. They were forced to abandon it when Vorok lead a war party against them, killing most of the members of the order and doing significant damage to the chapel itself.
