The explosive end of the Pliscian Civilization culminated in a decades-long magical winter. Dwarves retreated underneath the mountains while humans sought refuge from the catastrophic maelstroms that consumed Allethra. By the end, little of Pliscian infrastructure remained, and the remnants of the human race were scattered around the continent.
