The Rapture of Yneas
History
Yneas the Wise was a Dwarven monk notable for a vow of pacifism. His story teaches that only through patience and perseverance can one achieve true greatness. After a stint in the Crimson Militia of Nin he saw the horrors of battle and determined that no Dwarf should again be forced to face war. He committed to live his life as Ignis did, in creation, not destruction. He single-handedly built The Pillars of Contemplation in Driftguard, and his journal which detailed the process is considered a masterpiece. Forging a masterpiece requires the right tools, patience, and a steady hand.In his journal, the most recognized story is The Parable of The Hot and Cold Chisel. The hot chisel symbolizes passion, while the cold chisel represents discipline. Together, they bring balance to the artist's craft. Aspiring Dwarven masters must learn to use both chisels, lest their work be deemed incomplete. Thus spoke Yneas, the wise one, who attained true enlightenment through his art.
Excerpt: The Enlightened Path
Oh, seeker of fortune, heed this call of mine,
Climb every mountain, reach for the divine,
Explore the heights, the valleys below,
Follow each path, with righteous glow.
Cross every obstacle, ford every stream,
And pursue that rainbow, like a sacred dream,
For it is with passion and faith that you'll find,
All the wonders of life, for your heart to bind.
Your pursuit, my friend, will not be in vain,
For this is the journey that shall keep you sane,
So climb every mountain, with humility and grace,
And let love guide you, on this majestic race.
Relevance:
Today Dwarves who seek a non-violent path and the way of the craftsman consider themselves Yneaists and while they are followers of the Vulcanite faith, they have sworn an oath of non-violence. Though a word of caution they are not without means of protection.
