The Chronicles of the Emerald Hills
History:
With food running low, and shelter from the dangers of the Wildwood Pines ever at their backs, Thallan Uriya and their caravan were delivered the land Ashenvale. Coming over the Ravoux Crag Thallan was struck by the beauty of their land. They declared this land Ossirion, old Elvish for jade hills. Thallan was never considered much of a poet, so it is unclear if they composed or compiled the works of poetry, sonnets, and songs that would become the Chronicles of the Emerald Hills; but whatever the case the work has withstood the test of time. For today in many a pub a bard can be heard singing 'The Rapture of the Emerald Hills' or 'The Sonnet of the Lost Ossirion'Excerpt: The Sonnet of the Lost Ossirion
These hills, full of spring signs, blossoms, sprouting everywhere, clouds heavy with rain, slow in their movements, ready to pour generously.
The land inundated with life, emerald peaks, and valleys, and pools full of abundance.
The Elves, like blooming flowers with so many colours, each in full bloom, shaken by the breeze.
The trees, from top to bottom, straight as lines, their leafy branches touching one another. A kinship of our people, eternal under the blessing of Ashenvale.

Excerpt: The Rapture of the Emerald Hills
In the realm of our subconscious, we envision the ephemeral nature of rain to nourish the arid lands of our soul.
The gardens in the desert sand allow us to perceive the profound interconnectedness between life and death.
But as we awaken to our daily existence, we realize the futility of our pursuits and the preciousness of time slipping away from our grasp.
The desert rose, symbolic of our spiritual journey, reveals the concealed vow of our ultimate destiny.
Yet, the devilish scent of this spring flower, reminding us of our attachments, leaves us in agony.
Relevance:
The works chronicled are considered to not only be seminal works but since transcription of them has been a violation of Elvish law is the dissolution of the Elvish Union, finding a bard who knows the entire song makes the worth their weight in gold in Elvish lands. Though, it is notable that those same works can be met with animus in Drow and Sea Elf territory.
