Botanist Findings
Known colloquially as "the Dreamflower", this flower species flourishes in swamps and bogs. Their nectar is a highly sought-after compound in Humans, Elven, and Goblins territories (especially where entertainment centers and casinos are present). The nectar of the Somnium Flower is commonly added to ales and wine to induce a euphoric and dreamlike state. When ingested the nectar has also been shown to impact risk assessment and decision-making, causing individuals to be less risk averse (which comes in handy in casinos). The serum is one of the easiest harvested among all the known organic reagents and would probably be more readily available if one didn't have to trudge through waist-deep swamp water to harvest it.
Horticulture Findings
In bogs and swamps, carnivores rule; thus, the flower flourishes with no natural predators. However, when exposed to sunlight, its half-life decreases. This flower is believed to be the reason for the advent of shaded vials to protect delicate specimens. Growing in clusters of 5-7 flowers they are easily spotted with large white petals. The flower's nectar has a high viscosity when heated making it useful in artificers in their tinkerings as well.
Herbalism
Used primarily for its dream-inducing effects this flower has garnered a spot with traditional/classically trained healers and tribal shamans alike. Though the plant has a medicinal following, when combined with
Kamala Root it produces a compound that is both dangerous and euphoric.
