Indigo's Last Stand

Preceding Incident:

The Genasi Rebellions had waged on for two years draining the Conclave of resources and lives. After an advisory Conclave that lasted more than a week, it was decided that the City of Flux would be abandoned, but not before the Genasi could enact their final revenge for the betrayal by the Dwarves.   In lieu of victory, the Genasi would quite literally poison the well, an ancient aquifer that provided fresh water to the city was poisoned with Copperbane and Fireleaf Oil. Genasi, who are immune to the effect of both plants dropped weighted barrels loaded with the toxic plants to the bottom of the reservoir behind Flux Falls.

Description:

As the city fell, the Dwarves, aware the Genasi would not leave the city without a fight initiated a blitz throughout the city, purging known Genasi strongholds and taking no prisoners. Lieutenant Colonel Indigo Prawnee, the highest ranking officer still in the city not only gave the order but held the entrance to Flux Falls for four days with only a small detachment of Genasi Longbow Sharpshooters. While they halted the Dwarven advance, the plan was executed and successfully hidden, it would take the Dwarves 8 months to identify the source of the poison and another 2 years before their waterways were clear again.

Outcome:

Dwarves and Genasi have never officially resumed hostilities, however, both parties are considered persona non grata in the other's territories. While rare exceptions have been made Dwarves and Genasi commoners and military personnel regard the state of affairs as a de facto war, incidents of violence have become exceedingly rare.
