Greatsword Falls

History & Lore

One of the most controversial spots in Mithrigal is Greatsword Falls. This is due to its role in the First Genasi Rebellions during which the Genasi poisoned the source of the falls and by extension a portion of the population. This action was condemned not only by the dwarven population but by the Gnomish populations as well due to the large number of emissaries that were stationed in the city and suffered permanent medical conditions from the poison.   Currently, warning signs are still posted around the falls although new water sources, including canals, dams, and aqueducts designed to bring fresh water into the city are now active. The overall cost of the new waterways exceeded 500,000 GP and nearly bankrupted the Kingdom. Its effects can still be felt today. The largest of which is the legalization of gambling in the Dwarven territories and the constant presence of armed guards at all water sources.    The Genasi has considered the Flux Falls a holy site of the Old Gods, when the city fell and construction began on the monument of Pique Flintminer the Apostle King demanded all evidence of the Genasi presence in the city be eradicated starting with the decimation of the temple that sat at the base of the falls.
