Chimei - The Lady of the Fields

Lore:

The Lady of the Fields, Lady Midday, Chimei Spirit of Vengeance – she had many names, although the first term was certainly the most popular. She was feared by everyone working in the field during the Lumice and Shenzen (summer) heat. As the name suggests, she always appeared at noon, when the sun shone the most.   Believed to have been an elf, whose family owned a ranch at the edge of Drow territory. On a summer's day, a gang of Dwarves fleeing the Red Commission set upon their family. Putting their homestead, fields, and each family member to the torch, leaving only Chimei alive but burned beyond recognition. It is believed she made a pact with Ignis, The God of Fire, becoming his avatar of vengeance and taking on a new form. Her charge, to punish Dwarves who would misuse Ignis' power.   Her presence is said to be an omen to Dwarves and Elves alike. Leaving in her wake, field workers, gone mad from the heat exhaustion, mumbling of her presence, their bodies hot to the touch. Many we left in this fugue state for days, others simply succumb to the madness. Though her reasonings are unclear, it is believed that she appears to those who are not good stewards of the land, or Dwarves who have set upon a treacherous path. Setting their minds ablaze as well as their fields.   CAUTION: Interactions with Chimei are said to be fatal.
