Brickback Turtle

Ecology

The Brickback Turtle has no natural predators or habitat. They have been found as far inland as Alttanes, as far north as Yitreal, and have even been spotted near  Isle of Sky's encampments. This has led many zoologists to try and track migratory patterns in hopes of finding where their breeding grounds are located.  Thus far much of their migratory patterns and breeding grounds remain a mystery, as does how they can adapt to so many habitats.  The Brickback Turtle is a moderately social animal moving in bales of 4-5 turtles.

Taxonomy

When fully grown the Brickback Turtle can weigh as much as 800 pounds, possess a bite force of over 2,800 lbs, and with an interlocked shell can withstand a direct shot from a Greataxe without so much as a dent in its shell.  When in water it can reach up to speeds of 50 mph but only in short bursts. Their lifespan is currently unknown as only groups of adult turtles are ever seen, although it is estimated that their full lifespans are upwards of 200 years.
